In the middle of the pandemic gloom, a ray of sunshine is the news that Yamaha Music Australia has joined with AMRA and Record Store Day to be their new principal partner. This means Yamaha home audio and instruments will support the three calendar-distanced RSD Drops in 2020 and the real Record Store Day in April 2021.
Minako Shintake, Corporate Branding Manager at Yamaha Music Australia said “Our collaborative sponsorship with Record Store Day is the perfect partnership for us as the largest home audio and musical instruments manufacturer. Yamaha Music’s brand promise of “Make Waves” represents the transformational impact sound and music can have, and listening to your favourite album on vinyl… well there is nothing like it!
“Yamaha Music empowers artists’ creativity with our musical instruments, improves music fans listening experiences with an enormous range of home audio products, including turntables which are built on our overall commitment to creating sound.
“Happy Record Store Day and thanks for having us.”
Blake Budak, owner of legendary Canberra indie record store Landspeed Records and AMRA President said “I can’t say how pleased we are to welcome Yamaha. Already they have great ideas and energy for Record store Day 2020 that will make it even more fun.”
Plans are being developed for 2021. More to be announced once the pandemic has calmed down and we can plan with some certainty.
