Following the recent global unveiling of 2025 International Record Store Day releases, we are thrilled to follow with our list of domestic outfits set to release special editions for this year’s event, taking place on Saturday 12 April 2025 across the country.
Now celebrating our 18th year, the 2025 edition of Record Store Day Australia boasts yet another standout list of local releases, featuring exclusive vinyl from outfits like Dannii Minogue, Pond, Ninajirachi, The Grogans, The Saints, Olana Janfa, Heavy Moss, Maddy Jane, Beth and Blue, Loose Content and the return of everyone’s favourite canine family, Bluey. The full Australian release list is available below and via recordstoreday.com.au
The Australian release list follows the gangbuster 2025 international release list reveal, which featured exclusive drops from artists like Charli XCX, A Tribe Called Quest, Rage Against the Machine, The Cure, Sugababes and more.
According to artist Nicholas Allbrook, front person of Perth’s Pond, who are releasing a collection of songs from 2008 – 2010 exclusively for the day, RSD is an opportunity for music lovers of all walks to celebrate the ritual of vinyl hunting and show their appreciation to Australia’s thriving independent record store space.
“Have you ever watched the movie Empire Records? Have you gazed upon the cover of DJ Shadow’s album Endtroducing? Going to the record store is one of life’s greatest, most wholesome pleasures, and if it too gets gobbled up into our phones along with banking, dating and reading, then we are a very, very poxy species indeed.” – Nicholas Allbrook, Pond

For nearly two decades, Record Store Day has been the ultimate tribute to indie record stores worldwide, offering rare vinyl, live performances, artist signings, and more. This year will be no different. On Saturday 12 April, Record Store Day 2025 will see over 200 independent record shops from all across Australia burst with limited-edition vinyl, special events, live in-stores, and special activities, cementing its status as a treasured day for music lovers and collectors alike.
Beyond the records though, the event underscores the essential role of record store staff in preserving our music culture and fostering community connections, shining a spotlight on the unsung heroes of the music industry who champion new music, share their expertise, and help keep vinyl culture alive, one record at a time.
Record store locations are wide and varied, extending to states like Northern Territory, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania and crossing over through regional centres like Bendigo, Coffs Harbour, Wollongong, Albany, Darwin and Cairns, demonstrating the social fabric that record stores provide in all corners of the nation.
Past Australian Record Store Day releases have ranged from a 7” collaboration between Peking Duk and Darren Hayes to limited-edition records from Ocean Alley, Underground Lovers, Confidence Man, Forest Claudette, Ruel, and Montaigne—not to mention family favourites like The Wiggles and Bluey’s ‘Dance Mode’.
So, whether you’re crate-digging for hidden treasures, supporting your local record shop, or just soaking up the unbeatable atmosphere, Record Store Day 2025 has something for everyone.
Stay tuned for more announcements as Record Store Day 2025 draws closer this April, and keep an eye on our website and socials for more updates.
