Every independent record store can participate in Record Store Day

Take Part

A store will only be eligible for Record Store Day exclusive release stock from Labels and Distributors if it is regarded as an Independent Retail Store engaged in the sale of recorded music products. An Independent Retail Store is defined as any independent shop with less than 5 shops, whose company is independently owned and not publicly traded and sells music CDs, Vinyl and other recorded formats as a key component of their sales. The store must be a stand alone physical shopfront located in Australia and open to the public.

As a Record Store

A store must register to sell Record Store Day products. Like specific LP releases that occur on the day of RSD and are available in store only on the day of Record Store Day.

As an Artist

Collaborate with your local record store to perform live, meet fans, or even release exclusive Record Store Day content. It’s a great opportunity to connect with your audience and support the independent stores that champion your music.

As a Music Lover

Take part by attending In-store live music performances, artist signings, DJs, sales, talks, music related exhibitions and everything in between that makes an indie record store unique are ways to celebrate Record Store Day.
